Neal T. Stephenson and Dr. Ellen M. Lackermann sold a five-bedroom, three-bath home at 2722 33rd Ave. S. in Mount Baker to Brenda L. Newman and Thihan Nyun for $769,000 on Oct. 23.
The 2,360-square-foot house was built in 1922.
Stephenson is a novelist, essayist and short story writer.
Previously, he was research assistant at the U.S. Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory in Iowa. He also has worked for the Corporation for a Cleaner Commonwealth in Boston.
He received his bachelor's degree in geography from Boston University.
Dr. Lackermann is a family medicine physician at Pacific Medical Centers in Seattle.
She received her medical degree from the University of Iowa School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Swedish Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle.
According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 63 home sales in Mount Baker during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $409,750.
