Jinlin Yang and Thao Doan bought a four-bedroom, 2.5 bath home at 10115 218th Ave. N.E. in Unincorporated Redmond from Charles Layne and Amy Layne for $742,000 on Aug. 25.

The Laynes paid $850,000 for the property in July 2009. The 3,700-square-foot house was built in 1989 in the Redmond West neighborhood.

Mr. Yang is senior software development engineer at Microsoft Corporation, where he previously served as research software development engineer and research intern.

He earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, his master's degree and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Yang, along with Thao Doan, also bought a four-bedroom, one-bath home at 9909 171st Ave. N.E. in Redmond for $565,000 in Nov. 2007.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 303 home sales in Unincorporated Redmond during the past 12 months, with a median sale price of $480,000.
